HARMAN: The Compact Garden TractorA New Perspective on Small Tractors
Harman is a compact mini-tractor designed for use in small fields, big gardens, or vineyards. The design brings a new perspective to small tractors that, despite their small size, are able to handle great works.
Harman, designed by Sinan Anayurt, stands out from other tractors with its unique features and strengths. The vehicle was designed with two tracks that lead to one exit on the body, instead of a certain number of wheels. This innovative design makes the vehicle fast and small, while also providing exceptional maneuverability. The tracks absorb all the impact the vehicle is exposed to, thanks to their specialized damper system, ensuring that the driver can work with utmost comfort.
With a width of 1684 mm, depth of 2365 mm, and height of 1520 mm, Harman is compact yet powerful. It is operated using a joystick, taking advantage of the track structure instead of a traditional wheel. The working part of the vehicle is mostly located at the back of the body, allowing for efficient use in various farming tasks.
Harman was conceptualized as a school project in 2015 at Istanbul's Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Although it is currently in concept form, it is eligible for production. The production process can utilize standard transportation technologies, and the materials can be either new or standard tractor parts and materials.
This design has received recognition and accolades, including the Bronze A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category in 2016. This award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. Harman's incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology showcases strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements.
